SEPTEMBER 2006

THE HARVEST OF VILLAGE LIFE
The church decided to make itself known to the whole village in the latter part of 2006. At harvest we held an exhibition under the banner of "The Harvest of Village Life" inviting all voluntary organisations and the principle employer to provide an exhibit revealing something of its contribution to the life of the village. Three quaters of those invited responded favourably and the Church and Church Hall portrayed a dozen diplays for three days. Publicity included a leaflet drop to each house. Visitors saw contributions from preschool to golden age and from youth organisations to the Knights Templar and included the trophies won by the village Short Mat Bowling Club - quite a display in itself. A hundred local people appeared many of whom had never been inside the church before.
