Christmas Lights and Candlelit Carol Service
The Chrismon Tree
This was a Christmas Tree – celebrating the birth of Jesus.
It has now become a cross to remind us of the cross on which Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins.
On Good Friday it is draped with a purple robe and given a crown of thorns.
On Easter Day it is covered with flowers to remind us of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and the promise of new and everlasting life that this offers to all.
